The NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholars Program has developed noteworthy affiliations ranging from private individuals to world-renowned philanthropic organizations.
Affiliated Scholarships
Affiliations have been established with the prestigious Rhodes Trust, Marshall Scholarship, Goldwater Scholarship and the Gates-Cambridge Scholarship to allow their extremely accomplished award recipients to extend their research projects into PhDs through collaborative research at the NIH.
Supporting Organizations
International Biomedical Research Alliance
The International Biomedical Research Alliance (The Alliance) is a 501c(3) philanthropic organization dedicated to the support of the NIH Oxford-Cambridge Scholars Program. Comprised of a group of dedicated private citizens, their goal is to support the training a new generation of top biomedical researchers who are better equipped to investigate human diseases and develop new preventions, treatments, and cures. This group of individuals has been a source of ideas and support for the scholars to complement their bench research with unique educational experiences.
The Alliance organizes and funds several of the major and minor events, specifically those designed to bring the scholars and mentors together to interact and exchange ideas and to assist the scholars in their career pathway. The Annual Global Doctoral Partnerships Scientific Research Workshop, clinical case conferences, candidate recruitment activities, scientific awards, travel awards, career development field trips, social and networking events are among the activities orchestrated in cooperation with the Scholars Program and the Student Leadership Board. Through a collaboration between The Alliance and The Albert and Mary Lasker Foundation, scholars have had opportunities to engage with distinguished scientists and Lasker laureates at the annual Lasker Awards. The Lasker Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving health by accelerating support for medical research through recognition of research excellence, public education, and advocacy.
Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences
The Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences (FAES) is a non-profit foundation dedicated to support the training of biomedical researchers at the NIH through advanced educational programs. The Alliance has worked with FAES to help provide resources for the Scholars to live, work, travel, and develop scientifically and professionally.
