Program FundingThe Scholars Program is funded through the NIH intramural research program. The Scholarship provides each accepted student a living stipend, health insurance coverage, and a travel allowance for the duration of Ph.D. training. In addition, the program fully covers tuition at Oxford or Cambridge. You can learn more about program funding details and NIH appointments in our student handbook.
For students in the MD/PhD program, MSTP funding is provided by the extramural research program of the NIH institute in which the student conducts research. Prospective students may inquire about program funding, details of which may vary depending on the medical school in which the student is or plans to enroll and whether the students are the recipients of other types of scholarships such as the Rhodes or Marshall. To discuss MD/PhD funding with respect to your particular circumstances, please email the Managing Director at mdphd@mail.nih.gov. |
